Manufacturing custom clothes especially as a start-up apparel brand is a complex process in the big and competitive industry of apparel. There are many questions and many considerations you may have as a new apparel entrepreneur. Our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) can answer some essential and basic questions regarding apparel manufacturing and our company "Kalauren Apparel". 1.0 General Enquiries

1.1 What Are Your Minimum Order Quantities?
The minimum order quantities for a project starts from 400-500 pieces per order. For custom hardware, fabrics, trims, notions, dyeing, printing, embroidery, different MOQs may apply. Please kindly enquire for more details.

1.2 How Long Does The Process Take From Design To Delivery?
From design to sample to delivery, the whole process usually takes about 1-3 months.

1.3 How Much Do Samples Cost?

1.4 What Fabrics Do You Have?
We have a library full of fabrics from cotton, polyester, rayon, viscose, denim, georgette, lace and many others.
As part of the services for custom order, we offer to source for the fabrics should you have a particular fabric in mind that is not available in our library.

1.5 Customised Hardware / Garment Accessories / Packaging Services
At Kalauren, we offer the possibility to have your own customised hardware, tapes, labels, tags, garment accessories and packaging to create a fully branded product.

1.6 What Will Happen To My Order If I Failed To Approve The Sample?
If you fail to reply or approve any sample e-mailed/sent to you within a month, your order will automatically be put on hold, and will restart when we receive your approval.

1.7 Can I Bring My Own Garments To Kalauren Apparel For Embroidery, Screen Printing, Or Other Services?
No, you cannot bring your own raw material or garments. Because, we work on creating the apparel from the scratch, we offer you 100% quality assurance on all the products we manufacture. So that, when you order your custom made clothes we can assure you high-end quality products. Further our production takes place in China, so it is expensive for a customer to ship the fabric, and more cost effective to buy it from here.

1.8 How Long Does It Take To Get Back To Me Regarding A Quote Or Other Contact?
With latest communication application, like Whatsapp Skype and Wechat, you are always connected to your Relationship manager here at Kalauren Apparel . A dedicated Relationship Manager is assigned to you, who is responsible to work with you from design to delivery of your garments. We try to make the communication as effective and timely as possible like within 12 hours to 1 days excluding weekends, holidays, and other closures.

1.9 Can You Do Rush Orders?
Yes, we do provide the service of rush order. Just indicate that your production order should be rushed when you are ordering. Because, if you have submitted an order and then ask for it to be rushed, there is a chance our schedule of production will not allow us to fulfill your order as requested on the rushed time. There is a rush fees which is calculated by the day.
 

2.0 Payment & Shipping

2.1 When Is Payment Due?
Payment is due once a customer places an order, the payment percentage depends on the ordering quantity and type of product.

2.2 What Kind Of Payment Will You Accept?
We accept payment via cash, local bank transfer, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard & American Express) and Paypal.
PayPal – For payment by Paypal, there will be an additional 4% surcharge for Paypal fees.

2.3 Can You Give Me An Estimate Of Shipping Cost?
The cost of shipment would depend mostly on your ordering quantity and the product type, the prices we quote are inclusive of shipment and hence when you send us the designs for a quote, we would be able to give you an actually cost inclusive of everything.

2.4 Shipping Options
We provide both air and sea freight services via our various shipping partners. DHL, FedEx and TNT worldwide are our primary carriers for shipping and delivery. However as sea freight is charged on a CBM (cubic meter) basis, it might be advisable to use airfreight for quantities smaller than 3000 units as it more cost and time efficient.

Custom taxes and duties might be charged on shipments going to your destination.
Custom Taxes & Duties – Please note that the customer will be required to bear for the cost of these taxes and duties.

2.5 Insurance
For shipping, we do not buy insurance by default.
For instances where shipment are missing or are stuck in your destination country customs, Kalauren is not liable for any losses after the goods have been handed over to the shipper.
Please kindly arrange for purchase of insurance based on your cargo invoice value to insure your goods against such force majeure occurrences.

2.6 Payment Terms
1. Sample stage -100% upfront for courier, sourcing and sample costs.
2. Resample stage – 25% downpayment before starting on resamples.
3. Downpayment for bulk production – After samples are approved, we require 50% payment to start on the bulk production.
4. Balance payment for bulk production – After bulk production is completed, we will require the balance 25% + shipping charges to be paid.
 

3.0 Contacting Kalauren Apparel

3.1 How Do You Prefer To Be Contacted?
We unanimously prefer any form of communication e-mail contact or phone call at Kalauren Apparel. But e-mail is more reasonable because of several reasons. The most important reason that we prefer e-mail is because there is much less room for error. Phone calls are verbal and there is no record of the written contents of a phone call only that a phone call occurred. With e-mail, both you and the employees of Kalauren Apparel have the full power to review the conversation. This is advantageous to both parties – both Kalauren Apparel and you will benefit from written records.

3.3 Do You Have Any Refund Policy?
We provide our customers with strict quality-controlled goods without exemption according to Kalauren Apparel quality standard. Once the customized goods have been shipped, we do not accept any refunds or returns at all. So you can ask for pictures, video conference or you can visit our website to check the orders quality.

You can make any changes on the garments as long as the order is with us, but once it is shipped, we can still make the changes but you will have to pay for the shipment and re-shipment of the garments.
